For a player who only picked up a rugby ball competitively just ten years ago, Canada’s Mandy Marchak (pictured left against perennial rivals USA) has made immense strides. A leading player for her country at full senior level, Marchak also captained Canada to three international 7s titles this year and is currently playing her club rugby with Saracens in London. We caught up with the Canadian centre who is hugely enthused about the progress her nation is making under new head coach John Tait.

Scotland women’s rugby coach Karen Findlay has named three separate squads for the upcoming season following recent trial games.
A top of the table clash saw Richmond and Saracens do battle over the weekend with the latter coming out on top in a remarkable game which included a 90 minute injury break. Unbeaten Wasps remain on course with their win over OA Saints while Lichfield beat Bristol in an entertaining outing. Kat Merchant shone for Worcester as they beat DMP Sharks.
