Italy have one real aim this season and that is qualifying for the World Cup in 2017 after missing out on the 2010 and 2014 tournaments. Sevens rugby and the Olympics have never been significant factor for the Italians and it is very noticible that Italy were the first to seize on the significance of this year's Six Nations as soon as it was confirmed that the next World Cup would move forward a year.

The England Women’s team to play Wales in their opening Six Nations encounter on Sunday, kick off 230pm at Swansea RFC, has been announced. Acting Head Coach Nicola Ponsford has named a squad which includes eight world cup winners and three new caps in the starting line-up. On the bench, four players could also be set to make their first starts for England.
As Scotland Women prepare to open their 2015 6 Nations campaign against France this weekend, head coach Jules Maxton has included four new caps in the starting XV that will take the field in Nantes (Saturday 7 February, k/o 1pm GMT, live on France4).
