The IRB will announce full details of the tournament, being held in France, on Thursday (April 25).
The announcement will be made to coincide with this week's qualifiers for WRWC which are currently taking place in Madrid, Spain.
Eight teams have already qualified for the Women's Rugby World Cup. Defending champions New Zealand, 2010 runners-up England, Australia, hosts France, USA, Canada, Ireland and Wales have all booked their places at next year's event.
In Madrid this week six teams are battling it out to win one of two places at France 2014. Italy, Scotland, Sweden, Samoa, Netherlands and hosts Spain have already played one round of matches, with Round two taking place today (April 23) and the final round of matches on Saturday April 27.
The two qualifying teams will be known after the final match day on Saturday April 27, leaving just two places remaining to be filled by an African and Asian qualifier.
