Strong Nomads side for Scots clash

World Cup winning prop Sophie Hemming will play for the Nomads this weekend

Scotland have recently played the Irish Exiles and Italy as they look to take a step forward in the tournament which has seen them struggle in recent years.

The Nomads are an invitational team featuring top players not currently involved in international competition as well as ex-international and top club team players from around the world.

It is their first ever game against Scotland and they travel with a very experienced squad, with six players who played at the World Cup. Coached by former Scotland captain Suzie Brown and ex Canada prop Leslie Cripps, the side includes World Cup winners Claire Purdy and Sophie Hemming (pictured) as well as recently retired Irish internationals Fiona Coghlan and Lynne Cantwell.

The Scotland squad has yet to be named. Scotland meanwhile have announced that their two home 6 Nations fixtures, against Wales (Saturday 14 February, kick-off 5pm) and Italy (Sunday 1 March, kick-off 1pm) will take place at a new base, the central location of Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld.
