Working with strategic design consultancyMake it Clear,a brand new look and feel replaces the popular existing website, which is a significant hub for women’s rugby around the world, providing a wealth of information and content about the growing sport.
With faster routes around content, the new site implements a smart user interface.
A newTournamentssection gives users easy access to the competitions they care about, categorising reports according to tournaments for faster discovery through browsing.
The new design is highly image-focused, with a grid-based approach to navigation that makes for painless use on tablets. Large, clickable blocks mean thumbs and fingers can dig through content more easily on mobile devices.
A large image block highlights featured stories on the Home page, letting visitors get stuck into fresh news faster. Scores and upcoming games can be found inFixtures and Results, with links to corresponding reports and content readily available.
The newBack Chat Forumlets site users discuss anything from local games to International team selection, encouraging more engagement on-site and creating a bigger community around the site.
Find A Club will help players and fans get into the game with an international map hosting local club information that lets users find clubs anywhere from Aberystwyth to Zaragoza and seamless social media integration makes sharing stories and accessing the latest Facebook and Twitter content easier than ever.
Website editor Ali Donnelly said: “We’re thrilled with the new look of the website and after months of hard work we are really proud to bring a new site to the women’s rugby community. Everyone involved with Scrumqueens.com is a volunteer but with a quality new site to go with our high quality content, we are certainly looking to develop commercial partnerships in the future to help us to continue to bring the best coverage of the game possible to our readers.”
