Guatemala win South America’s “C” title
Guatemala took full advantage of home support to win the South American C Championship. With their men also winning their title it ends a great year for Guatemalan rugby, who were recognized as World Rugby associate member.

Growth has not only international level as last week saw the opening of improved facilities by the Guatemalan Rugby Association, who hosted a well organised tournament with legacy activities of linked to Get Into Rugby.
Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama joined Guatemala in the tournament, and it was Costa Rica who made the most of the opening day, winning all their games.
However on the second day they lost a tight final to their hosts 14-10. El Salvador beat Panama by 12-7 to clinch the third place.
Marcelo Rodriguez, President of South American Rugby, expressed his pleasure with the progress of rugby in Guatemala. "We want to congratulate you for the great work being done. Winning Sudamericano C shows the reward for your efforts at this level.
“We see growth in all countries of the region, something that makes us happy and encourages everyone to redouble our efforts."
