The tournament was played out between England, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain and a French A side and was preparation for the start of the new Sevens season which kicks off in earnest in Dubai in December.
The majority of sides used the tournament to blood new and fringe players, but England, who featured a sister pairing with Fran and Alex Matthews (pictured)were a class above throughout the tournament.
On Day One, England were the strongest side with four wins from over Spain, France A, Netherlands and Germany while the French first team had three wins from four. Spain recovered from their opening two games to win their final two.
On Day Two notable features included a win for Netherlands over Spain in the Plate Final while England and France played out a highly entertaining final in poor weather.
A hat-trick from Kat Merchant, who had a fine tournament, was the key for England while France showed pace through Shannon Izar who scored a fantastic try early on.
For France, Spain, England, and Netherlands the next step is Dubai in December at the start of the Womens Sevens World Series.
