The final was the climax of the first day of the 2014 Hong Kong Sevens, thoufgh all of the previous games were played at the Hong Kong Football Stadium.
Canada dominated the event, only conceding a single try in their opening game against Hong Kong. France were also delighted to finish runners-up - though they nearly slipped up against China in their pool. Japan again had a good tournament, and South Africa will be happy with third place.
