Six converted tries and a penalty were more than enough for the BSORF to deal with a weak Caen team, without conceding a point.
Despite this the first fifteen minutes had gone well for the home team. Gincourt was playing well in defence, and Blagnac lost two key players through injury - Mayans (4thminute) and her replacement Casado Gonzalez (10th).
"It's annoying because these two had just come back from injury," says the coach Eric Carrière. "We knew Caen’s rebuilt team managed to score 15 points in Montpellier, so we had to take control of the game."
This they did with three tries before the break from Gilain, Delpeuch and Auriol, all converted by an impeccable Abadie boot.
The second half saw BSORF in total command putting in a flawless performance at both ends of the field, with three more tries giving them their second bonus point win and the championship lead.
Toulouse’s other team, Stade Toulousain, were faced with a far tougher challenge away at champions Lille. A very different game was a near stalemate for the first hour, with Lille leading at half time thanks to just two penalties. Then on 60 minutes a Toulouse yellow card gave the home team the edge, sufficient for Camille Moncozet to score the only try of the game. Toulouse continued to battle, but rarely threatened the Lille line, and a third penalty confirmed a 14-0 win that puts Lille in second place.
2015 champions Montpellier are level with Lille, and will play them next weekend (the Top 8 goes on, despite the European 7s in Malemort) after recording a 24-12 win away to newcomers Romagnat.
Finally, Rennes showed an improved performance, beating Bobigny 21-19 despite the Parisians outscoring them on tries by three to two.
