For the Belgian "Lionesses" this was their first game of the year, since their defeat by the Netherlands in the final of the European Trophy, November 2 at Waterloo. The team coached, by Stef De Vos and Christophe Duret, travelled to Marcoussis on Friday to prepare at the French National Rugby Centre for the match on the following day.
The French were always favourites and put pressure on Cathy De Geyter and her teammates from the start, and although they battled hard the lack of match practice Lionesses told (with the Belgian championships stopped since mid-December). Les Bleus U20 also benefited from poor Belgian kicking, wiht most of the game played in the visitors' half.. Final score: 46-0.
