Australia, the world's current number 1 sevens side, will play Ireland in a three-match series at the inaugural Sydney 7s (6-7 February 2016).Australia, who won the opening round of the 2015-16 HSBC Women's World Series in Dubai at the weekend, will play the series newcomers once on the Saturday and twice on the Sunday at Allianz Stadium.The series is a rare opportunity for Australian fans to watch their side first-hand.Ireland will be looking to use the exhibition series to gain invaluable experience playing against a world-class side as they seek to cement their spot on the World Series.Qantas Australian Women’s Sevens captain Sharni Williams said: “It’s an understatement to say we are excited to be playing in front of a packed house at Allianz Stadium during the Sydney 7s.“We all enjoyed playing against Canada on the Gold Coast last October but this will be something else.
