Another women’s test for Twickenham

The RFUW have confirmed that the womens rugby Six Nations international between England and Wales will be played at Twickenham.

The game, on February 25th, will be played after the mens fixtures between the same nations and will be free of charge. Its the second womens international there in the coming months with New Zealand also playing there later this month.

The England V Wales womens game will kick off at 18.15 while the mens game is at 16.00.

The BBC, official broadcasters of the RBS 6 Nations, will also show the womens game live on the Red Button and the BBC Sport website while also providing highlights coverage and news throughout the tournament.

The RFUs Chief Commercial Officer, Sophie Goldschmidt, said: We are delighted to announce that the England Womens versus Wales Six Nations Championship match will be included as part of the RFUs home Six Nations programme.

Our partners at the BBC will also be covering the game live, underlining the growing interest and enthusiasm for the womens game globally on the back of the most successful Womens Rugby World Cup ever in 2010. I am sure that the game will be a great contest between two fiercely competitive teams."

Carl Hicks, BBC Rugby Union Editor, added: Were delighted to be once again showing a key match from the Womens Six Nations on the red button. As with 2010 well be following the narrative of the whole tournament with weekly highlights online and on TV, and all the news throughout the five weekends. The womens tournament is an important part of the BBCs RBS 6 Nations coverage.
