Coghlan: All to play for against Wales

Past the half way stage of the Six Nations and we are not where we would like to be in the table.

It was great to get the Championship started with a win, but we gave ourselves a few scares in the early stages of the game. Italy were in control but we weathered the storm and once we got into our stride we scored some good tries, we were disappointed to concede a try in the last play of the game.

I always assumed France was warm, so when packing I was a bit naive to the freezing blizzards that they were having. I had to borrow clothes all weekend to stay warm.

We knew it was going to be a tough task to play France away from home but we were confident after defeating them last year. However we just did not turn up on the night and France deserved the win. The welcome and reception we received in France was unbelievable.

The entire town was involved in the game and they were running Irish events all week, to celebrate the match. At the game itselfthere was a boisterous crowd of 5,000 French supporters with a few Irish flags in between. The after match function was a spectacle, brass band, street entertainers and a sit down meal for 500 people, they know how to entertain guests in style.

Next up was the English game, again away from home. We got off to the worst possible start, leaking 2 tries in the first 7 minutes. After that we decided to start playing and exerted a good bit of pressure on the English but again they showed their class and capitalised on our mistakes to score two further tries.

There has been much talk about the fact that we were the first team to score against them so far, but you can take little comfort from that, these games are about winning and thats all that counts.

So now we have two huge games at home. Wales a team that we have only beaten once. We have analysed our performances after each game and we know that if we can play consistently for the 80 minutes we can beat these teams, now we must put it into practice. We finish the Championship at home against Scotland, a team that had a great win over France. So as it stands it is difficult to see how it will finish up.

Last week we were invited on an Afternoon TV Chat show, so Myself, Orla Brennan and Amy Davis made our way to RTE (National Station), to go on this live show.

We had a great time, seeing how live television runs and amazed at how calm it all was. It gave us great exposure, as it had a large audience.

But note to everyone, when on national television make sure you mention your team-mates and wonderful coaches and management. I failed to do this and I can sense a large fine coming my way at the end of the season.

I loved being in front of the camera but thats because they werent trying to catch me out. If anyone has being watching our blogs, Tania (Rosser) has some way of making me do stupid things all the time and catches them on camera. In fairness to her though she is doing a great job and is entertaining us all looking back on them.

So onlytwo weeks left, hopefully I will be a happier then.
