Ireland

The Irish women’s team represents both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in rugby union. The team competes predominantly in competitions in Europe including the 6 Nations and the European Championships. Ireland have made huge strides in recent seasons and are one of Europe’s top sides in the 15s game, winning teh 6 Nations twice in the past decade.  The Irish women’s game was run by the IWRFU, a voluntary governing body, until 2009 when the running of the game was taken over by the IRFU.
