Belgium faced the French Army team on Saturday, April 5 in a friendly game at the home of ASUB, in Waterloo - and it was the French who carried the day

France win at Waterloo

From the beginning of the meeting, the team of France Army team put the Belgians under pressure. Belgium failed to get out of their half and suffered repeated attacks. The players, coached by Pascal Lawinski and Christophe Duret, nevertheless defended tooth and nail but still conceded two trials during the first half hour (0-12)

After a difficult start to the match, therefore, the Belgian XV raised its voice at the end of the first half and pulled the score back to 5-12 via a try in the corner by Sarah Verzin. Halftime was then whistled a score of 5-19 after a French try just before the break.

Belgians had be more equal share of the second half but struggled to keep pressure on the French. One test was scored in the second half, shortly before the hour mark, confirming the victory for the Blues (5-24).

The Belgian women's team was missing players, used by the national sevens team for a preparation tournament in Amstelveen (Netherlands).
