AWorld Cup year gives everyone a buzz, but the?Six Nations is a funny competition where anything can happen ?? we just have to hit our straps. Everyone bar Alex Matthews is available, and she is not far away. Heather Fisher came back last?weekend and scored a hat trick for Worcester, Emily Scarratt is back, so is Nolli?Waterman this week, so we are in a good state??? probably better at this stage than we have been for many years"
"Their?preparations?will?have been?disrupted by injuries, but have they bought in some good sevens players ?? Elodie Poublan and Christelle Le Duff were strong?in last year's tournaments, and Jennifer Troncy is always a good player. And they have some quality backs there. They will still be very competitive. Christian [Gallonier] I think is an excellent coach, I know him very well, and he??ll get them fired?up.
They??ll miss players like we all do, and?will miss Marie Alice Yahe for the leadership she brings, but they have some exciting backs?and at scrumhalf they have both?Troncy and Yanna Rivoalen, who has?played?against us, USA and Canada, so now she has experience as well. They have a massive pack so they??ll win ball, and at home they are always a threat. I??m not underestimating France at all. Definitely not."
"Ireland at home will be a game to look forward to.?We know what happened last year, but now I have a full squad available and we want to make a statement in the tournament?? against Ireland particularly. We have a great rivalry but I??m great friends with Philip Doyle. It??ll be a special match for us and the girls won??t need any motivation"
"They are very handy in the backrow and?Barratin is a a great scrumhalf, and they have always had pace out wide.?If you watch their Six Nations games they have come on so much, they??ve beaten France now and could have beaten Ireland at the last game of the season. If they played against us in the way they play against everyone else they could be a real handful, but they have never shown that potential against England?and?we have always had good results. But one year the team that beat France?is going?to show up against us, especially playing at home with their crowd behind them, so we?never underestimate them."
It will be interesting?to see how the young Welsh players get on - they can either set a team on fire or panic. It will be a big ask for Wales?coming to the Stoop, but last year they gave us a scare. They always raise their game against us - they?were the only team to beat us in our run of Grand Slams. And Wales-England is always special, you can always feel the passion"
"Scotland will be tough. Away at Aberdeen Grammar School, way up by the North Sea, conditions are going to be hard. We have had some big wins in recent years, but they won??t want that to continue and I know they will be motivated to stop it happening again"
