The Esher Rugby Summer Music Festival will run from 12 noon until 6pm, with 12 or more acts providing the musical backdrop, and a bouncy castle and other children’s entertainment making it a day out for all the family.
The club will put on a barbecue and beer tent, and parking will be included in the ticket.
Tickets, available through the club supporters website or direct fromwww.eventelephant.com/helpskrum, are priced to encourage as many members and fans as possible to come along, with all ticket proceeds going to the remarkable SKRUM charity, which educates children about HIV / AIDS in Southern Africa while also introducing them to Rugby.
Esher RFC Chief Executive Mike Schmid, said: “We’re delighted to be putting on this new event and we really hope that as many of our members and rugby fans as possible come out and support the club and also SKRUM’s fundraising efforts. It’s something a little bit different on Father’s Day and there will be something there for everyone.”
SKRUM Founder Michael Collinson, said: “Our sincere thanks go to Esher RFC for hosting and the fans for supporting this event, which we hope can become an annual celebration. We started SKRUM in Swaziland in Southern Africa five years ago when the HIV/Aids rate rose to a staggering 42% of the population, and by going straight to the country’s children and giving them this education and support we are truly making a difference. It is a long term project, though, and every ounce of support we receive is crucial.”
