Asian XV tournaments hot up

Singapore, Thailand(pictured), Laos and hosts the Philippines will take part in the tournament.

Singapore are seeded first in the tournament and will play fourth placed LAO PDR on June 14.

Second-seeds Thailand will meet the Philippine Volcanoes and the final will take place between the winners of the games on June 16.

Singapore and the hosts warmed up for the tournament with a game recently though it was more a development selection with Singapore coming out on top.

Most of these nations have been focused on sevens in recent months so the transition back to 15s will be interesting.

The Divsion 1 Asian tournament will take place in China on the weekend of July 5-7. Hosts China are joined by Kazakhstan, Japan and Hong Kong.

China are paired with Kazakhstan in the first game and Hong Kong with Japan while the two winners will contest the final.

Hong Kong recenty played Japan in the Men's Asian 5 Nations curtain raiser with Japan winning convincingly 61-15.
