Former Canada women's assistant coach Kris de Scossa has been named the head coach of the Wales women's rugby team replacing Jason Lewis who stood down after last year's World Cup in Guildford.
De Scossa has a wealth of coaching experience and was part of the back room staff which guided Canada to sixth place in last year's World Cup. He is joined by Liza Burgess - the ex-Wales international capped 87 times for her country and Beddau head coach Rhys Edwards.
De Scossa has coached professionally at Elite level within England, Australia and Italy, as well as coaching with top clubs in Sydney, Rome and England.
Coaching the 7s game, he has excelled in European championships and assisted Glen Ella with Australia in the World Series. The last four years has seen de Scossa work in Alberta and British Colombia, Canada, as well as returning to Europe to conduct elite specialist sessions in the English Premiership.
He was a Canadian High Performance Coach to National teams.
He has the tough task of preparing Wales immediately for the 6 Nations with a squad shorn of some experience following a number of senior retirements.
Scotland are also yet to name their head coach for the forthcoming season.
