France announce World Cup training squad

Thirty players have been selected for France's latest World Cup training camp in June, which will be followed by the host nation's two warm-up internationals.

For the first time in France's preparations for the tournament in August the squad will bring back together the Six Nations Grand Slam squad (with the exception of Marie-Alice Yahe whose retirement was announced at the beginning of May) as well as seven players from the Sevens squad who will, by the time of the camp, have just completed their European Championship campaign - Koumbia Djossouvi, Shannon Izar, Marjorie Mayan, Christelle Le Duff and Camille Grassineau (all of who were also in the Six Nations squad), and Caroline Ladagnous and Laurelin Fourcade (who have been playing sevens exclusively since the start of 2014).

Christelle Chobet, Lenaig Corson, Lucille Godiveau and Elodie Guiglion are also included, despite having missed the Six Nations.

As a result six players from the previous training groups have not been included in the latest selection – Julie Annery, Julie Billes, Wendy Divoux, Lucille Godiveau, Sandra Metier and Sophie Pin.

The training camp will be at Tignes from 16-22 June, and will be followed internationals against Spain (1st July at Valladolid) and South Africa (4th July at l’Etang Neuf in Marcoussis) and a final training camp between 13th and 20th July.
